HAVRCF History
During the latter half of 2005, there was an increase in chatter on the Victory Motorcycle Club website between central Florida Victory owners who expressed a desire to get together for riding, bike nites, poker runs, etc., more often.
As the actual participation increased and more faces were matched to names, a comaraderie began to develope between members.
Then, on Oct. 3, 2005, a thread was posted in the SE Forum of the VMC suggesting a Local Chapter might be a good way to solidify the growing interest in sharing these activities.
After some website discussion, a meeting time and place was chosen and on Dec. 11, 2005 at The Hitchin Post in Chuliota, FL., the first 'round table' meeting was held to talk about starting and promoting a Local Chapter.
It was a unanimous decision to pursue this endeavor. Soon emails and PM's were being sent to gather info on how to proceed. Once the required forms were recieved the only thing missing was a name for our new Chapter. After many suggestions, one name seemed to fit just right, which was submitted by autiger2, ironically from Alabama.
The paperwork including our name was submitted to the VMC Board of Directors which gained approval, and on Jan. 28, 2006 the 'Hurricane Alley Victory Riders of Central Florida' was officially designated the 13th VMC Local Chapter.
Since its inception our Chapter has strived to promote comaraderie through participation of its members by attending any and all riding events whenever possible. In addition, the overall enthusiasm of the Victory brand has always been an underlying incentive that drives our members towards this goal.
Thanks to the VMC website, and now this Chapter specific site as well, the HAVRCF will continue to grow, gaining even more recognition and notoriety throughout the VMC.
